During the Regency England Era Englishmen were among the greatest artists the world has seen. Beautiful paintings were made during this period. Painters made their era a unique style. There was only one problem women wouldn't get appreciated for their work of art, people were not interested in women work. Silhouettes and woodcuts were really popular during the Regency Era. Silhouettes was named after Etienne de Silhouette who lived from 1709-67 in France. He enjoyed a hobby of cutting pictures from black paper. Their history can be traced to prehistoric times and the 'black figure' vases of Greek antiquity. It's hard for people to distinguish between silhouettes and woodcuts, its hard to distinguish from both of them and tell which one is which. Some of the finest painting were made by an Indian ink or pine soot on card or plaster or painted on porcelain rather than cutting it from paper. Also illustrators became popular for children's books. Style came important during the Regency Era and Georgian style with the classical tenets of the Italian architect Andrea Palladio, Neoclassicism, the Classical Greece, Rome, Chinese theme, and a taste of French furniture.
