In the early 19th century families were more focused on status and whether or not all the family members are living up to expectations in society. If you are a young girl in that age then you will be brought out into society at the age of 16. Although if you mature enough or the favorite of the family then you could be brought out generously early. Being of good money is important. It raises your social status.

In the home of families there are cooks and governesses. You only have the privileged of having those luxuries if you are of good money. Some families can not afford things like that. So the women of the homes have to learn all the things that a governess is supposed to teach them, by there self's.
Families do not really spend much time with each other. They go to balls a lot and when they are at home they all do there own little thing. Not all families are like that though. Some families care about one another very mush. They care about there future and how there life might end up. Mostly though the only thing one another care about is the name that is given the family in society.
